About

I'm an Innovation Commercialization Fellow at Carnegie Mellon University's Department of Social and Decision Sciences, where I lead the development of Doughnut Research, a new cyber-secure behavioral data-collection enterprise.

My career has focused on building interactive and intelligent systems to support human workflows during complex, physical, and creative tasks. I have deep expertise in mixed-methods behavioral data collection and in-the-wild testing and deployment. My Ph.D. dissertation explored workflow support in the context of fabrication. I was a member of the founding task force of the Cornell Department of Design Tech.

Before Cornell, I spent three years as a Human-Machine Interface Researcher at Jaguar Land Rover in the UK, collaborating with the University of Cambridge on AR head-up displays and driver workload modeling. During this time I was recognized through Oxford–Cambridge Rising Women in Science and Engineering, the JLR & Tata Innovista awards, and a Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851 Industrial Fellowship. During my Ph.D., I worked at Walt Disney Imagineering R&D, Accenture Labs, and Toyota Research Institute, and collaborated with OSHWA, Amada, Team Rolfes, and Nissan.

My background spans Industrial Design (B.S., TU Eindhoven), Artificial Intelligence (M.S., Utrecht University), and Information Science (Ph.D., Cornell Tech, with a CS minor in computer graphics). In my spare time, I run, read business books, and maintain an independent creative studio which has received recognition in design, writing, and art.
